Binance Sign-Up Tutorial — Email Registration and KYC Walkthrough
Binance's sign-up flow was simplified after 2024 — an email and password are enough to create an account, and the whole process usually takes about 3 minutes. To unlock the full feature set (deposits, withdrawals, futures, Web3 wallet, etc.), you also need to complete KYC (identity verification). This page breaks those two steps into 6 sections with screenshot-driven walkthroughs and common error lookups so you can clear it in one go. Start by opening the Binance Official Site registration page; Android users can also download the Official Binance App and follow along on mobile, and iOS users can find install steps on the App Download page.
Step 1: Open the Binance Sign-Up Page
Type binance.com directly into the address bar, confirm that the HTTPS certificate is issued to a Binance-affiliated entity, and avoid any look-alike domains with prefixes or suffixes (such as binance-xxx.top, bnance.com, or binаnce.com with Cyrillic characters). On the official site, click "Register" in the top-right corner to enter the sign-up page.
If your region cannot reach binance.com directly, you may be redirected to a regional mirror (such as binance.info); these are official domains as well.
Step 2: Choose a Registration Method
Binance offers 4 ways to create an account — pick whichever fits your habits:
- Email registration: the most common option, requires an email that can receive verification codes (Gmail, Outlook, and Proton all work)
- Phone number registration: receives codes via SMS, available in some countries
- Google account: one-click bind via Google, no email verification needed
- Apple ID: created via Sign in with Apple
For new users, email registration is recommended because it makes password recovery and alert-email handling easier later on.
Step 3: Fill In Your Email and Password
On the email registration page, enter the following:
- Country / region of residence: choose the country or region you actually live in — this affects KYC region matching later
- Email address: use a regularly-used inbox that can receive verification codes
- Login password: at least 8 characters, must contain uppercase, lowercase, and a number (special characters are not required but recommended)
- Referral code: optional; the system will not force you to fill it in
Tick "I have read the User Agreement and Privacy Policy" and click "Create Account". Binance will send a 6-digit verification code to your inbox, valid for 30 minutes.
Step 4: Verify Your Email
Look for an email from [email protected] in your inbox and copy the 6-digit code into the page.
If you do not receive the code:
- Check the spam folder first (most common cause)
- Wait 60 seconds before clicking "Resend" (clicking too often will trigger rate limiting)
- Double-check that the email address is spelled correctly
- Confirm that your email provider does not block overseas mail (some local providers reject foreign senders by default)
Step 5: Complete Basic KYC (Identity Verification)
Once your account is created, log in to Binance, go to "Account Center → Identity Verification", and complete KYC — it is the prerequisite for unlocking deposits, withdrawals, and large-volume trading.
What to prepare:
- An ID card, passport, or driver's license (any one — clear photos with all four corners visible and no glare)
- A phone or computer with a front-facing camera (for the liveness check)
- Your real name, date of birth, and address (must match the document)
The KYC flow:
- Choose the document type and issuing country
- Upload front and back photos (the system will OCR your details automatically)
- Confirm the recognized name, date of birth, and document number
- Record a 3-5 second liveness video (blink and turn your head as prompted)
- Submit for review — results usually arrive in 5-30 minutes
Step 6: Common Reasons KYC Fails
If your KYC is rejected, the rejection email will include the reason. The most common ones are:
| Error | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Document image not clear | Glare, blur, corners cut off | Re-shoot on a white background, avoid backlight |
| Liveness check failed | Too dark, unnatural facial expression | Redo it during the day facing a window |
| Region does not match document | Country of residence differs from issuing country | Change the country of residence to match, or provide proof of address |
| Document already registered | The same ID was previously bound to another account | Recover the old account, or contact support |
Three Things to Do Right After Sign-Up
Once your account is created and KYC is approved, do not rush to deposit. Finishing the three items below cuts the risk of account theft to near zero:
- Bind 2FA: use Google Authenticator or Authy and avoid SMS codes (SIM-swap risk)
- Set an anti-phishing code: under "Account → Security", set an 8-character custom string. From then on, every official Binance email will display that string, making fakes easy to spot
- Configure the withdrawal whitelist: under "Wallet → Withdraw", enable the whitelist so you can only withdraw to verified addresses
The three steps add up to about 10 minutes. After that, you can fund your account via P2P or bank card and place your first trade.
